Castello San Giovanni in Bondone<\/h4>\n

The charm of Castello di San Giovanni, presumably built over a previous Roman structure, dominates a magnificent location anchored on the top of an elevated rocky outcrop, with spectacular views overlooking the entire valley to the north, and Lake Idro in the south.<\/p>\n

It was accessed by crossing a drawbridge and was a possession of the Lodron family. There are still many mysteries to this building \u2013 perhaps in its bowels it still guards secret chambers that will never be revealed\u2026<\/p>\n

Parking is available at the Bissina Dam<\/h4>\n

From Tione follow the \u201cCaffaro\u201d road nr. 239 of the direction of Pieve di Bono to Lardaro, on leaving the village turn right for Praso-Daone. Then you enter the Val Daone. The paved road continues for 17 km, crossing Vermongoi, Limes, Pracul, and Boazzo. Having passed the Malga Boazzo artificial lake, you enter Val di Fumo and following the road, you arrive at the artificial lake of Malga Bissina. A marvellous example of glacial modelling, the Val di Fumo extends into the south-central sector of the Adamello Group and is one of the most picturesque alpine valleys in the Dolomites<\/p>\n
